Legends of Football Competition

The Competition is now closed, thank you to all those that entered. Details of the winners will be shared in March.

This Legends of Football competition invites pupils in Years 3-6 (KS2 only) to participate in a competition to win the wonderful prize of an hour’s training session followed by a Q&A with England Coach, Gareth Southgate, at a Prestigious London Stadium.

The pupils will be asked seven questions as well as completing a ‘tie-breaker’ question which will involve the children writing a paragraph of no more than 100 words. The event will be a wonderful experience for pupils and parents, and you do not have to be football skilled to enjoy the occasion.

The Elms Sport In Schools takes the marking of the ‘tie-breaker’ very seriously and will gauge the results according to the judges experience on the abilities of Years 3-6 under consideration.

The experience and suitability of the judges is covered by their CV’s below and encompasses education, psychology and sport.

THE COMPETITION JUDGES

On achieving a 1st Class Honours Degree in Mathematics and Computing with QTS, Teaching provided the opportunity as PE Coordinator to inspire and encourage physical activity to large numbers of children and promote high quality inclusive teaching for all pupils regardless of their ability. As a Headteacher, she was able to introduce a number of initiatives - Breakfast Clubs, Lunchtime and Afterschool activities, Holiday Clubs, Daily Mile and inter-school competitions in her schools providing regular physical activity for children of all abilities.

Her passion and belief in sport and physical activity being able to teach children the important life skills of resilience, tolerance, decision-making, empathy and coping with stress and emotions was confirmed as children returned to school after the recent pandemic.
